Travel & Logistics

Gdańsk is very well connected to Belgium and the rest of Europe. Whether you prefer a quick flight or a scenic train ride, here is the breakdown.

Traveling to Gdańsk

Option A : Flying to Gdańsk

Route Airline Notes
Brussels (BRU) → Gdańsk LOT Direct (~1h50)
Eindhoven (EIN) → Gdańsk Wizzair Budget option (1h30 drive from BRU, 1h20 flight)
Via Hub (e.g. FRA/MUC) Lufthansa / KLM Usually 1-stop via Warsaw or Germany
🛫
Avoid Warsaw Modlin (WMI) unless you have a plan. Like Charleroi is to Brussels, Modlin is far from Warsaw. If you fly to Warsaw, aim for Chopin Airport (WAW) to catch the direct high-speed train to Gdańsk.

Option B : Fly to Warsaw + Train to Gdańsk

If you want to spend a day in the capital first, fly to Warsaw (WAW) and take the EIP (Pendolino) train. It takes about 2.5 hours to reach Gdańsk Główny station.

Check PKP Intercity Trains here.

Option C: Train Eurotrip

For the eco-conscious or those who love the rails: You can take the train from Brussels-Midi. You’ll typically change in Cologne and Berlin. It’s a 14–15 hour journey—great for a book, but definitely the 'scenic' route!

Getting arround Gdańsk

🚗
Download Bolt or Uber. They are significantly cheaper than in Brussels and work perfectly in the Tri-City.
- Airport to City: ~20-30 minutes by taxi.
- Within the City: Use the SKM (local train) to move between Gdańsk, Sopot, and Gdynia. It’s cheap, frequent, and avoids traffic.

Where to Stay

Generally, staying near Gdańsk Old Town (Główne Miasto) is best for sightseeing and transport.

If you would like to stay quite close to the venue of the wedding and with an easy access to public transport to the city center of Gdańsk we would recommend:

If you prefer to stay close to the airport then:

If you would like to stay at the see side then we recommend a hotel which is already in Sopot but very close to Gdańsk (if you would like to stay at this one, please let me know and we can manage special price for you - my friend 😎):

In the city center of Gdańsk there are many hotels. As you can imagine we have never stayed at any. We can advice you to avoid districts like: Nowy Port, Przeróbka, Stogi, Sobieszewo (this is Gdańsk but in order to get there you have to first get out of the city - complicated)

If you wish, you can consult with Kasia your choice :)
